It takes years of brutal hard work to become a good-enough dancer to dare to go to an audition, and then the reward usually is a brusque "thank you" and a sweaty ride home on the subway. A Chorus Line is a depressing (in a good way), but occasionally inspiring musical that screams "I was made between 1975 and 1985!" This musical is about people having such intense love and dedication to a craft (in this case dancing) that they will do anything to participate in it, and hopefully some day making a living from it.
